A Warm Welcome to One Folkestone – a platform for community voice and community action in our community.
The information in this short section is an introduction to the thinking – and how to get involved if you want to.
It’s early days – and it will take a little time to set out the full picture of what we are hoping to achieve.
A first outline of the vision and the key elements – as shown below – will be put out there for everyone to consider at an initial community discussion in January 2025. What happens next is up to everyone and anyone who wishes to support the concept of a new strategic partnership for Folkestone.
Our main goal is to provide a fresh new view as an alternative approach to community issues and community development.
We have one simple priority – our local community.
We are not tied to any of the major political parties – we share a set of ideas and views on what is needed in Folkestone and the surrounding area; one thing is sure – we need change and we need it as soon as possible.
We are committed to working with and for local people.
We believe that those elected to represent the community should focus on voice – listening – and deliver opportunity and also choice – a simple acronym for the values and approach of One Folkestone

Reviewing The Place Plan which was commissioned by the District Council on behalf of the local community, our proposal would be to develop this further into The People Plan in discussion with local people.
This Plan should map out the best of Folkestone as well as what needs doing to improve Folkestone.
Most important of all, it should set out how local people stand to benefit from the present and the future in our town.

FPP in action – key information for you
We have a draft constitution which is currently being reviewed and revised and will be published here soon.
